"The reason I have added the Serpent cymbal to my ensemble of percussion is that it engulfs the sound on stage while putting out a colorful sound that reaches everyone in the audience.

I believe the Serpent cymbal stands alone.

The Serpent cymbal should not be confused by its size and shape.  It is this uniqueness that creates the dynamic sounds and vibrations that will truly mesmerize you."

Bleu Ocean is a dynamic percussionist, producer and arranger.  He makes things happen musically.  "Drumming is in my blood.  I was born a drummer and play all kinds of hand drums as well.  I like studio work and I have no problem picking up the feeling and adjusting to all the stylistic whims of various musicians.  It's fun and it's challenging.  I play acoustic drums, drum synthesizers, timpani, congas, and many other percussion instruments.  During my years of studio work, recording and concert experience I have worked with many bands.  It would be easy for me to give you a list of names but instead I will say this, I have worked with the best and I'm open to working with anyone that plays music that is in good taste."  Bleu performed for CBS records and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" & "Bring The Boys Back Home" albums.  Keep on rockin'.

Bleu Ocean is now listed in Volume 3 of Pink Floyd's encyclopedia, get it now at your local book store.

Mojo Magazine just did a cool Pink Floyd special edition and had a quiz in it. Check out the Q&A's to #3 & #16!

3) What Pink Floyd song has 36 different drummers on it?
Answer: Bob Ezrin arranged a session in New York in which 35 different drummers all lined up and played snare drums for the song Bring the Boys Back Home. This army of snare drummers was then augmented by Joe Porcaro in Los Angeles, who played a military snare drum that was mixed in the foreground, over the "army" of snare drums.

16) Who is Blue Ocean and what is his relationship to Pink Floyd?
Answer: Blue Ocean is a New York drummer who gathered together the 35 snare drummers that performed on Bring the Boys Back Home.
